We offer two types of eyebrow tattooing, Microblading and Machine Hairstrokes. Both give the same natural, hair stroke result, both are semi-permanent and fade beautifully over time.
To give you the best healed results we tend to recommend microblading for clients under the age of 40, and Machine Hairstrokes for clients over the age of 40.
However if you have: sensitive skin, oily skin, very little natural brow hair or previous brow tattooing please Instagram message or email us a photo before booking so we can decide which method of tattooing will give you the best result.

Microblading
Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. Individual hairstrokes are tattooed into the skin using a hand tool to create a hyper realistic, natural brow in an ink matched to your hair colour.
Microblading can last from 1-5 years and will gradually fade over time. Colour boosts are recommended if you would like to maintain your brows.

Machine
Machine Hairstrokes are a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. Individual hairstrokes are tattooed into the skin using a tattoo machine to create a hyper realistic, natural brow in an ink matched to your hair colour.
Machine Hairstrokes can last from 1-5 years and will gradually fade over time. Colour boosts are recommended if you would like to maintain your brows.

*We do not do colour boosts over other artists work*
If you are a previous client of Salon 17 please send us a photo of your brows before booking a colour boost so we can check if your old pigment is sufficiently faded.
Remember: You are only ready for a colour boost when your brows have faded by at least 60-70%. This could take 1-5 years depending on skin type and lifestyle. Adding pigment to the skin too soon will result in new hairstrokes blurring and realistic results will not be achievable.
