Patch Test

Thank you for choosing Salon17. Once you’ve made your booking, you should receive a patch test in the post to carry out at home. If you have not received your patch test one week before your appointment, please let us know.

The patch test is carried out to detect any allergies you may have to the metals or inks used in the microblading treatment. You must carry out the patch test on yourself at least 48hrs before your treatment. Failure to do so could result in an allergic reaction.

Once your patch test has been received, please follow the instructions below:

STEP 2Take the small blue lancet/ needle. Holding the longer end with one hand, carefully pull off the rounded end with the other hand.

STEP 3On the back/underside of the wrist where you have wiped, VERY GENTLY scratch a tiny 2 millimetre line onto the skin. The line should NOT be visible as you do not need to press hard. Carefully replace the rounded end of the lancet and dispose of the needle.

STEP 4Open the clear pot and dab the cotton bud into the ink inside. Gently smear the ink covered cotton bud over the scratch. Leave the ink on the wrist for the remainder of the day.

If after the patch test you experience any signs of swelling, itching, or feeling unwell please contact Caroline at Salon17.
